Default Possible to let trackir z axis to control FOV zoom in and out?

Currently under 4.12, the 6dof works great. However if the zoom in and out can be controlled by trackir instead of a dedicated key, the whole thing will be so much better. I hope that can be achievable in the next patch.

What kind of stick do you have ? I have found the best zoom in IL2 is to be had with a button and a macro.

I am using x52pro. Can you elaborate on your idea? (a button and a macro).

To do this you must use the profiling software. It is not as hard as it seems and well worth the time to learn if you do not know how to use it. If you use an X-52 and you do not use the profiling SW then you are only getting about 30% out of your stick. I use an X-52 as well with a MSFFB2 and pedals. On my X-52 I have my zoom in as the - and zoom out as the = sign. Using the profiling software you can set that key command to repeat. I use my mini stick axis tghat I have set up as a 4 way hat switch, that is it responds to commands at the 12,3,6, and 9 oclock positions.. My zoom is set at the 3 and 6 positions with nothing at 12 & 6 at the moment. The press is set to .005, the repeat is set to .060 and the release is set to .010.

I see. I am using the profiling software that comes with the stick. The issue is I am not used to controlling zoomin and out with a controll or key. I prefer that I can use my head to control via trackir, but I guess the game is too primitive to allow that. Also, I hate the ministick. My doesn't work well. Btw, you are from Northern VA? I am from NVA as well. What is your locality? Fairfax?
