conf settings no longer staying.

This I don't understand.

I have been using the info window conf settings that Buchon posted in a separate thread.

Now, for no reason at all the info window for engine management no longer stays in the digital format that I prefer. I start the game and the analogue slider visual appears. I switch it to the digital format, hit save and it works, though I have trouble then with my chat bar and it takes several clicks of the mysterious gray transparent window to get it to show the chat bar again.

Then things are OK, till the next time I start the game, then I'm right back to the analog sliders again.

It all worked for a bout a week, now it's changed and I have no clue why.

Why can't things that should be simple and obvious to use be that way?
