Lightbulb Core I7-9xx and ATIs please unite ...

Ok, so there is still a very serious performance drop bug impacting
ATIs 4000/5000/6000 series especially clear with Core I7-900 CPUs and some others big cpus.
This is maybe related to a fake full screen mode still used by the game.
Meanwhile this bug is not impacting everybody and some have experienced
the wonders of the last patch on the very same hardware specs.

There is one more pending week until next patch, so those who are out of the woods by now may help the others to temporarily overcome the problem.
Please just say if you're ok or not, and give at least : screen resolution, refresh rate, game options (shadows..), video card, modified drivers panel y/n, motherboard type.

warning : having a 1gig video card may still cause some stutters over cities,
we are talking about poor (even worst) overall improvements here.

Ok here is my system

AMD 1055T 6 core cpu clocked at 3,3 Ghz , Saphire ATI 5870 1 GB Vapor -X, 8 GB DDR3 Corsair ram!

With the beta patch i had nice performance. The stuttering was gone. It was smooth! With current patch it is much much worse! Alot of freezes, Stuttering and very low fps on high settings except trees on middle to low at 1920 / 1200 !

Then i noticed that in the current patch my graphic card did not go to full throttle ...in fact it stayed at GPU 400 and vram 900 (should be gpu 875 and vram 1250)

Unfortunatly i was not able to get the ATI tray tool running together with launcher.exe to force the card in full 3d mode. Only one time i was able to play with ATT tool activated and everything was smooth again. But since then ATT tool crashes when launcher exe is launched.

Seems to be a major bug because some people with similar or better PC have no performance issues at all and their cards seem to run at full speed.

Most performance issues with ATI/AMD GPUs and Cliffs of Dover can be attributed to the fact the game does not run in a full-screen mode like every other DirectX game out there. This is breaking the drivers on many levels including stopping the Catalyst Control Center from having any effect in-game in terms of applied settings as well as causing the game to be ignored as a 3D program which has the follow-on effect of 3d clock speeds not being applied properly.

Would like an update in regards to the full-screen situation, it was mentioned last patch it would be added in but its still not here.

I'm about to install one this evening to replace my GTX285. I'll let you know how I get on. However, I don't think that there is a universal problem with them.

No problems for me, very slight FPS related stutters when flying over rooftops level over London plus a few bugs here and there. But definetly playable with over 50planes over land, AA etc etc. Running it 1080p with 8xAA anti-epi of and SSAO on and all settings on high exept building quality on medium (playable with all max but I like to have few frames more and ass little stutters as possible. I have not tried the newest official patch because of work so those are from the latest beta patch. I´ll try how well my 6970 will OC tonight so I´ll se if I can get even more frames out of the game with it.

I don´t know does it matter but I´m running dualscreen. And I have checked that my GPU throttles up properly and CPU does use more cores than one plus I´m using hyperthreading.

4gb ram
Asus 6970 2gb ,stock clock, 11.3 driver

Win7 64

no AA
anti-epilepsy off
all high, except buildings quality low.
Trees, terrain and landscape shading - medium details.

My frame rate drops to single digits over built up areas, pretty much the same as most from what I gather. The stuttering seems incurable even with everything off or set to low it's still there. I'm finding it playable with models set to high and everything else medium, but only by staying away from built up areas.

My GPU always uses the fastest clock speeds.
