Default FMB - scramble start, but engines OFF?

I've started to play around with FMB and am getting some very nice results with it. One thing I have noticed though is that it doesn't seem possible to do a scramble start with engines ON. Shouldn't the engines be on and already warmed up, as this is historically accurate? With CEM set, and a gaggle of Do-17's starting the mission just 30 seconds from my airfield, this is a serious problem! I have to sit on the runway threshold starting my engine and then waiting for it to warm up as I watch the Hun drop their bombs right in front of me.

So, can we PLEASE have a scramble parameter in the FMB to set the engine as 'on and warmed up', or have I missed something?

Thanks

PPP

BTW, the low level early morning mist is very very good

There is a "scramble" checkbox in the GroupProperties, however I couldn't figure out what is does.

Yes, I have used that. It seems to place the a/c on the runway (with engines off), as opposed to parked in the hangars.

If you select 'idle', the other AIs in your flight have engines off too and they don't seem to start, even when you take-off. They just sit there, engines off. Need to play around with it some more though.

strange.... i try and that work for me...

if i just put the flight to take off they star on the runaway with engine off

if i check the start static they begin in the parking

and if i check SCRAMBLE they start from runaway with engine ON

i do not test with all planes but with the he 111 it works i'm sure of it! i just do it 10 mn ago.

Looks like we've found a bug. If I remember correctly, I tested the Spitfire I with the "Scramble" option on, but engine was off. We should try different a/c to get the whole picture.
