Default Cannot fire guns at all

For some reason, all of a sudden I cannot fire the MG at all no matter what I map it to. My joystick is working all fine I can fly, even if I click on the fire button in the cockpit nothing happens still. It worked every time until last time I played.

I have had some weird things happen with trying to open the canopy etc. I remapped the keys about 5 times and then bingo, it started working.
Try remapping the keys a few times.

Is this a particulair campaign mission or is the problem apparent in all missions?
If its campaign related read below. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

Have you tried different missions? I for one found out that my "friends" at the fat cat squadron forgot to refill my ammo belts when I transferred to another squadron. My escort had "engine problems" right from take off... And I bet Tweed deliberately leaked a transmission to the Hun that a lone hurricane was zipping across the cliffs...
