Default Testing IL-2 CoD's SLI Scaling Potential

The NVIDIA driver allow developers and us to check the maximum possible scaling in a given SLI configuration.
Running the executable renamed as "AFRFriendly-D3D.exe" will make the driver skip any form of inter-GPU synchronizations as well as common form of CPU-GPU synchronization.
this will lead to maximum expected scaling in that system, but may introduce rendering artifacts since the driver is no longer performing all the operations required to guarantee correctness in AFR mode.

Sadly I'm no longer in the SLI family so I can't check from myself.

I'm curious to see the results...

Hmmm... interesting, thanks for sharing this information.

You mean renaming the launcher.exe?

I think I read somewhere that STEAM will not allow us to start the game from a different executable though (have not tested it myself).

Damn steam!

If we can't rename launcher.exe we can use NVIDIA Inspector to create a custom SLI profile, at least until NVIDIA create his one but this is way harder and I can't work by myself on a custom profile without being able to test it.

Maybe it would allow to rename launcher.exe into another steam application (that has good sli support) and maybe it would require changing application id number in shortcut as well. Now the shortcut looks like steam://rungameid/63950

Worth trying.

Maybe it would Ataros, my logic however tells me the opposite, you see I run my CoD (because I have English + Russian + all the previous EN, RU patched versions on separate directories on my HDD) not from STEAM but from shortcuts of the launcher.exe from the different subdirectories.

STEAM is online and correctly approves and allows me to play (I have to login accordingly before with my STEAM account for the International or for the Russian version, of course).

Anway, I do not complain, I have no stutters flying 3072x1024 offline/online with 70+ fps and I do not lose sound so, I just wait patiently (or impatiently) for Luthier's beta patch news tomorrow...
