Hi,A little whine for the need of some kind of volume control for the in-game sounds. eg engine sound radio chatter etc. I fly using a head set so that my family can watch television in peace but i also use ventrilo through the same headset. In the old il2 you could set the master volume down so that i could reach a happy balance. I am unable to find this in COD. If there is a master volume could you let me know please maybe in the conf.ini file? It would be nice though if we had some kind of user interface later on in the future though. Just so i dont have to SHOUT OVER THE ENGINE NOISE!! LOL .I know its not a priority but none the less its something worth sorting. cheers guys.

Does it work if you use the Mixer in the Windows taskbar? I haven't tried that yet. If you have Vista or Win7 though you should be able to set volumes for programs individually.

Nice one grunch, once you have launched the game (in windows 7) press the windows key and select the speaker icon (mixer icon) in the task bar, select mixer at the bottom of the headset volume and you will get serveral options for sound, I had headset volume, system volume, Cod volume (

Just had a little look in the conf.ini to see if the was an option to change volume levels in there. Looks like you should be able to:
[sound] SoundUse=1 DebugSound=0 SoundEngine=1 Speakers=1 Placement=0 SoundFlags.reversestereo=0 RadioFlags.Enabled=1 RadioEngine=2 MusicVolume=14 ObjectVolume=7 MusState.takeoff=1 MusState.inflight=1 MusState.crash=1 MusFlags.play=1 MasterVolume=14 Attenuation=7 SoundMode=0 SamplingRate=0 NumChannels=2 SoundExt.occlusions=1 SoundFlags.hardware=1 SoundFlags.streams=1 SoundFlags.duplex=1 SoundExt.acoustics=1 SoundExt.volumefx=1 SoundFlags.voicemgr=1 SoundFlags.static=1 VoiceVolume=8 Channels=1 SoundFlags.bugscorrect=0 SoundExt.extrender=0 SoundSetupId=8 ActivationLevel=0.02 Preemphasis=0.8 RadioLatency=0.5 AGC=1 PTTMode=1 RadioFlags.PTTMode=0 RadioFlags.PlayClicks=1 ActLevel=9 MicLevel=10 SoundFlags.UseRadioChatter=0 SoundFlags.AutoActivation=0 SoundFlags.forceEAX1=0 speakers=0 I guess you could try and lower the values of the sounds you reckon are too high. I would try this myself first, but I've got to go make coffee for the wife! |
