Default What I would do if I were Oleg...

the solution is quite simple.

On the very same day of the release of the game, a hacker from russia called Gelo Xoddam would leak to the community a crack, fix or whatever you wanna call it, so the people in the western countries could appreciate to its full extent the original way in which the game was programmed.

KISS rule of thumb...

And when the draconian epilepsy filter is gone the fps will go up to a stable 50+ fps while attacking a bomber formation on a GTX580 rig with no stuttering at all (as it really should be able to do to not get bad reviews due to this)? I guess many people here are in for a nasty surprise, but OK if it feels better to blame the epilepsy filter for all bad things in the world I'm not going to stop you...

Much as we all have reasons to dislike ubisoft (previous DRMs etc), Oleg and co were free to sign a contract with any publisher they fancied, and presumably ubisoft made them the best offer (regardless of whether it was good financially, the most flexible etc), so we shouldn't just be blaming them.

And love the IL2 team as I do, it's difficult to see how they haven't really messed up here. It maybe as daft as someone not understanding the implications of the contract, which I guess can happen with small teams that have few resources.

We just have to hope they can make this the success that we've been expecting. Oleg maybe leaving the team, but hopefully the team can remain motivated despite the current mess, and go on to produce fantastic patches and add ons for years to come.
