Cool I decided to wait for Collectors Edition instead

Spending $XXXX.xx for a game and then waiting about an hour for it to download (queued with a million other eager players) is not only a major turn off (and potential for disaster), but nothing beats fondling a physical entity, ripping its cellophane off, sniffing the fresh scent, then inserting that hard object inside... the drive that is.

Yeah, sex is better in person too.

Seriously, I would not be happy dropping a chunk of change to wait and hope it gets downloaded, and nothing bets taking pictures holding a box in your hands! (for those who know what I mean about that!!)

Not to mention flicking through and reading the manuals in paper form rather than a pdf.

Just let you know if you get the cd before the steam release DO NOT try to install or you may be forced to download it, wait for the steam release and then install it from cd.

I experienced this with shogun 2 after I linked the cd key it wouldn't let me install it as it was already linked luckily I have a good connection and shogun 2 was preloaded so i had no need for the cd in the end

Steams content server stats..

Never saw them maxed out, EVER.

http://store.steampowered.com/stats/content/

Not saying you should change your mind but letting you know that the Steam content servers are reliable and to be honest, CoD in terms of Steam releases is relatively small.

I usually download with close to or exactly 3 MB/sec from Steam (which is the maximum of my connection). If you get a slow download, try changing you location in the Steam options to a country next to you. That usually helps. But i get full download speed anyway, atleast most of the time.

That's my experience too, I seldom go below 2 Mbit/sec and I have been above 10Mbit/sec too (on 100 Mbit fibre).

I don't know which sites that top that? Maybe MSDN which have really good bandwidth too?

I just meant you should not try to install it before its released on steam or you may have to download it.

When you install it you have to enter the CD key and you can only do this once.

Humm,

Does not make sense that if its not released on Steam, how can I download it from Steam?

And if I DO install it on comp, then try and activate but will not due to not being read, will it then try and force me to buy $$ the D/L version?
(PS, thanks for the caution note)
