Default Moving IL2 to a new drive

My C drive was getting full, so I installed another drive. I then moved the entire IL2 folder to this new drive. I now have IL2 in E:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946. But, I can't get it to load, now. All that happens is the first screen comes up, stays there for a few seconds, and then closes.

What have I done wrong?

Moved as in copy/paste? Because in order for that to work I'd imagine you would have to do some registry editing.

The easiest way would be to reinstall the game to a different folder. E.g. E:\Games\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946

(Before you do so, it's recommendable to backup and then uninstall your current IL2-Installation.)

After the new installation copy your complete IL2-Folder into the above folder, including all subfolders. Then your registry links point to the right folders and it should work again.

I right clicked on the IL2 folder, and tapped "move to".

I can copy and paste the folder wherever I like and every copy works, but I am using the-patch-that-must-not-be-named since my disc gave up.

Well, that's not really an advertise-able solution

You can copy your entire IL2 directory anywhere you like. No registry editing required. You might have to make a new il2fb.exe shortcut that points to your new location. No modding/hacking required.

A new il2fb.exe shortcut sounds like the simplest path. How do I go about making a new one?

I confirm that. If the installaion is OK, you need to do no reg editing or anythig like that.
