Arrow 4.10 Fog of War

Hi

I wonder if someone could help, I'm trying to enable fog of war, but it doesn't seem to be working. I have a home base with AI, a ship and FOW enabled to 5k, short but just a test, I have an enemy AI directly over the base within the height limit. I have the advanced FOW enabled and the ship set to 10k.

In the game set up I have the No map icons checked, everything else (to do with FOW) is unchecked. if I uncheck No map icons the No fog of war option becomes unavailable so I presume the no map icons needs to be checked. With this option I only get my icon, no enemy or friendly and no radio communication.

interestingly I do not have any options for FOW in my config.ini as the PDF instructions intimated, should the update to 4.10 have added them, do I need to add anything, or do I have my settings incorrect...

Help please I am getting frustrated

Thanks

I just tested a couple of missions. Quote from de MDS manual:

Important!
MDS FoW functions is only enabled if the difficulty option "No FoW Icons" is not selected. This is convenient way for server host to disable all FoW features without editing all mission files separately.
The "No Icons" should be on, and "No FoW Icons" should be off.

Hope this helps.

If you read his post, those are his exact Difficulty settings......"In the game set up I have the No map icons checked, everything else (to do with FOW) is unchecked."

Custom FoW settings in the 'conf' file must be added manually. However, the standard FoW settings will be in each individual mission's 'mis' file (near the top).

Sky, if you attach your test mission here, I will download it and have a look.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies, I think I may have found out what it was, the mission in question seemed to have been corrupted, I rebuilt it completely and it now works...odd because nothing was different.

Thank you anyway.
