Default I got a problem with new 5770 graphics card, please help :)

OK just plugged in the power supply and the new card and it works only problem is my monitor kindda shrunk down the picture. like about an inch on the sides and half an inch on the top and bottom.

Oh and I also got a new HDMI cable hooked up so that may be something you should know

But to fix it I tryed lowering the resolution, that fixes the "gap" on the monitor but it stretches and kindda distorts the whole picture, leaving everything almost fuzzy and outta focus.

a fun new problem

Sounds like you may have to play with the monitor setting buttons. Usually they are on the bottom or one side. Make sure you keep the monitor at its native resolution, its normal max resolution.

Open CCC, choose "desktop displays" tab from the graphics drop down. Right click on the lower display and choose "configure". Go to "scaling options" tab and move overscan slider to 0% (to the right).

Hope this helps.

I am trying to open the Catalyst Control Center, but the program wont open... I click on the link from the Start - programs - then CCC and the mouse icon switches over to the loading icon then nothing happens and it goes back to the pointer arrow for the mouse and nothing...

I also tried right clicking the desktop and then clicking CCC from that list and Nothing happend again.
Also tried going into Start-Devices and printers- clicking on the monitor and tryed to opoen CCC but nothing again.

Any ideas how to get that program running?

Flyingbullseye

I have a 23" dell monitor. I have been figiting with the buttons on the side and I cant move the screen around, or expand it . it seems the options for those are "Greyed out". so it wont allow me to do that. is there a way to make those same changes from an option in windows, making me bypass using the monitor buttons?

I've had this happen once in a while when I install a new cat version. Usually something did not install and needs a fresh install for it to work properly. Make sure you downloaded from ATI's website the full catalyst version. Uninstall whatever cat version you have and delete all the files in windows related to it. Restart and and reinstall, usually works for me.

And it worked this time! so I went through the steps like I was instucted by =PF=coastie and it Totally fixed the problem! I am able to maintain the highest resolution. and it fits my screen perfect.
