Default First time setup issue.

I'm trying to run Men at War, which I recently purchased and downloaded from steam, and it says:

"Performing first time setup, installing Microsoft Direct X"

Then nothing happens for a while, and that message is replaced with "Main executable has stopped working."

I bought the game in the bundle with Red tide, and that is working, but I was hoping to play multiplayer with a friend.

Any ideas? : )

Thanks.

Which OS do you have? Are you an Administrator? If not make sure that you run the installation as an Administrator. Otherwise try downloading and installing the latest DirectX from Microsoft first, and then try installing again.

Thankyou!

I'm using 64bit windows Vista. I ran steam as an administrator, but with no luck. I'll try installing directX first then.

Thanks

If you continue to have problems let us know but also check the Steam MoW Forums, there are few posting about Vista 64-bit having problems but they only suggestion is to update all your drivers.
