Default Sim Players, do you want a Cockpit View only option?

Coming across so many sim players who would love to the option of only allowing cockpit view in the setup of a game, why not make a poll?

Hopefully many vote and developers take note!

) ONLY in combination with limited ammo. Since it makes it much more difficult to shoot, except if you have so many rounds that it doesn't matter.

) only if the WEP levels are made more realistic. As of now they add about the right amount of power to level flight. But I think they're still too powerful in climbs and turns. So the initial gun solutions are always high-aspect so the target is below the fuselage.

With limited ammo, and a 1 on 1 or team battle, it would be a good addition because it would mean a lot more maneuvering necessary to get the target visible and still have enough lead to hit it. In FFA dogfights it's not important, since FFA mode is basically a matter of being bounced once or twice a minute, and trying to shoot someone down before it happens.

I hate cockpit view, especially when it gets dirty, and I love my virtual cockpit. But I voted yes because it would definitely be cool to be forced to use it if I know everyone else has to too. And the sense of accomplishment would that much greater. Also, the feeling of shooting feels much more, er, "solid" in cockpit view, if you get my meaning. It feels like there's a lot more weight behind your tracers. I can't really explain it better than that.

I'm not against the idea, but it would split the community even further and be that much harder to find a random game.

Oh yeah, didn't think of that...

How about if it was compulsory for simulator mode? Then it might flesh out realistic a bit more with guys that aren't quit ready for the full leap - because as it stands, sim and realistic aren't hugely different.

I do find it easier to fly in Cockpit view (Sim) when I'm panning the view to keep tabs on my opponent and maneuvre at the same time, I don't lose track of where my plane is relative to the ground (which I do in virtual) quite so easily. Once I'm on a tail then I switch back to virtual but if it were compulsary for everyone then I wouldn't mind. Flying your plane when the cockpit is covered with oil would be a bail out for most and hitting the engine of your oppenent (if too close) often creates oil smearing on the canopy (which clears after a few seconds). Sim flying would be a lot tougher. Also, have you noticed the change in contrast when switching between views? I voted yes as I'm a glutton for punishment.....

That's a host option that should be across the board, not just in simulation.
