Default In game messages

How do you text while in the game or send a message in the lobby? I `ve had a couple pilots message me and I don`t know how to reply...don`t want to seem a snob LOL. Had a few great matches yesterday, can`t remember all the names but got a lesson in the G-6 from one good pilot. Gotta head out for a month at sea but I`ll see ya all when I get back. Thanks

On PS3 you tap (don't hold) the PS button on your controller (in between the sticks). This will bring up the XMB which I presume you know how to use.

Or if you're in a lobby you can highlight a player and press square (I think) to bring up their profile. From there you can choose to send them a message.

Sounds very similar to XBOX. The big X button in the middle of the controller, then to Messages, and select send reply.
Or make a new message and type in the gamertag of the person.
Or select the person in the 'recently played' list (if he's in your lobby he'll probably be somewhere at the top) and 'Send Message'.
There's probably some other way I didn't think of, but that should cover it .

Yep, all that's pretty applicable to PS3 too, including the "recent players" list.

Do you not have any psn friends?

You send messages the same way when you are in game or out of game.
