Default I've only played this game for 2 days...

I've only played Il2 for two days as I grow impatiently tired of waiting for the PS3 patch. I refuse to play with the PS3 controller mapping as it is offline or on...I'm waiting to plug in my flight stick and remap it.

For all the wonderful work the devs seemed to do on this, it seems to me totally of the mark to not think about having remapping available for a sim - even if it is on a console - to begin with.

I check this damn forum just about everyday looking to see if the patch has been released so this game can stop collecting dust since I first got it. If I check again tomorrow and the patch still isn't out I might take the disc and shove it down a garbage disposal.

Anyone else with me?

Hell, I'd play the game right now if they'd remove just the deadzone on PS3. Or if they allowed remapping - I could at least use the gamepad.

I refuse to play on gamepad now simply because I don't feel like taking any of my rc airplanes out and destroying hundreds of dollars in equipment because the stupid game "unlearned" my mode-2 control.

In other news, it looks like they are working on getting a pc version out, so I wouldn't be suprised to see support for this game to be dumped.

Such is the way things are for console gamers. It's best to stick to pc for any games you'd actually like to get a lot of replay value out of.

yeah now since i got another x52, and built another a pc that would handle the game im thinking of just going to get 1946 and be done with this console version. Theres a lot missing in the console version anyways. Should of known when they release something like this on a PSP..

Gotta say, since my out-of-warranty PS3 YLOD'd a month ago (replaced with a slim), I have been waiting for the patch/update before I fly again.

I don't want to fire this great game back up till the screen-tearing, online scoring, server issues and T-Flight Hotas X deadzone is fixed.

Not whining, just waiting...

what i cant understand is how Borderlands got a patch already and the game just came out! I am calling bullshit on the devs saying that the patch was shipped off to Sony and MS when they said it was. just my opinion, but seeing the borderland prob fixed/patched already leaves a real bad taste in my mouth.

Been playing on-line agianst some very skilled peeps (Xbox). Some are using a gamepad (which I can't use at all) and others a flight stick (which suits me fine). Given how good these guys are sort of questions just how much impact the 'dead zone' has or the lack of key mapping, The game is there for the taking, just needs a bit of dedication and practice.

Not to mention that the dev's have virtually dissapeared after the insanely overpriced DLC pack. The dev's silence on this and the dev forum is F'ing rediculous.

Agreed, especially since IL2 has at least as many sales as Borderlands, and 1C+Gaijin is almost bigger than Gearbox+2K Games . But they're probably lying about the update etc, because that would be the smart thing to do.
[/sarcasm]

P.S. About the Borderlands patch: are you talking about the one they started making before Borderlands was even in stores?
