Only arrived PM and fault appeared this evening, will call them tomorrow, Thought it was odd when I first booted the console up to try the stick, came back a few minutes later and the game had started with a pilotless plane, shut it down and rebooted and all was ok (for a while anyway). Ah well, these things happen.

Update in case this is a common problem, boot the console without a controller, plug the stick into the USB and it works without issues. Wether you should have to do this is another question......

Why wouldn't you boot the console with the stick if you are going to use the stick?

Naive hope that maybe thats what you have to do (which is rubbish of course!) since the stick went ballistic after half an hour or so. Definitely duff and boxed up ready to go back, so grounded until a replacement arrives......

Before doing anything, double check that you don't have the Blazing Angels switch on the side flipped. If it's set to BA, controls will be completely nuts in any other game.

Unfortunately, its in the correct mode. The funny thing is that the Saitek instructions say that you have to set it in the BA mode for use on a PC which was an absolute hoot when I tried it on MS combat flight simulator and the joystick becomes a 'ykcJokts'.........even with the MS drivers installed.
