Best & Worst Campaign Missions

I'm on my second playthrough of the BoP campaign, and I was curious as to what most people think the best and worst campaign missions are.

For me the best has to be the one in the Battle of Britain when your bombing the ships with your Hurricane (the name is escaping me). It's just a blast to play over and over, especially on sim.

Following close behind was the one in Sicily where you bomb a couple of ships and then a large airfield in an A20G. Actually I thought all the Sicily missions were a lot of fun.

The worst IMO were the ones in Stalingrad. The first one with the Type 24 plane (though admittedly the mission would be better if I had more skill with that plane) I just had a hard time chasing down the much faster 109's. Another mission I didn't like in Stalingrad was the one where I had to cover ground troops by bombing ground targets in the city, they're extremely hard to find on Sim, and can still be tedious on Realistic as they can be positioned right in between houses.

Those are my personal choices, but I'd like to see what the general consensus is, so let's hear your thoughts!

My favourite is the final mission of the battle of Britain. Having all those bombers in the air and having to take them on is great fun. I just wish the mission would let you get them all instead of asking you to break off to take on the Stuka's.

I ones I didnt like most were the Russian missions because they were kind of boring. A lot of them are essentially identical. They also dont feel like a consistant level, they seem a bit out of whack in that respect.

All of the battle of Britain missions were my favorite.

The absolute worst mission is Hornets Nest.

Any missions where i got to fly the hawker hurricane was a blast for me, i enjoyed dogfighting over dover with 109's in sim mode and also seeing all the smoke trails etc from shot up planes above me in the skies of kent. Looked great, really got into it.

The worst...... the majority of the soviet missions. They were very pretty repetative. Same shit different day kind of feel. I went straight through on sim mode though so i may be a tad harsh with my hatred of the soviet missions due to struggling to visually spot the ground targets.

IF the P51 model was a little better then i would of enjoyed some of the missions over belgium, most notably the one thats also in the demo where you have to blow up the train.

Best: The single mission in Britian were it was strictly a dogfight. It was about 25vs25 and they all came head on at eachother. Can't remember what it's called, but that scenario stuck out to me.

Worst: The missions were you have to catch the Germans before they reach their destination, but they are faster than you =|

+1 for 'Red Skies of Dover' being the best. I played it over and over on Sim when the demo version came out. There's something very appealing about looking over at the formations and planning your swoop down on them! It's so satisfying to dive down on a formation of bombers, down one, swoop off as the others open fire and get into position far alongside and above them for the next run. Magic.

I'm only midway through the Sicily campaign, but I would say so far my favs are the BoB missions Fox Hunt, Red Skies of Dover, and First Steps on Sicily. I *would* say the second Sicily mission, the air combat was awesome but the landing and picking up a pilot thing was cheesy and annoying on Sim. Actually I liked "They Shall Not Pass", it was really neat to be in the air with all of the different swirls of aircraft types. I got a lot of 109s on that, they are so outnumbered, all you have to do is get altitude, dive and get in on a gravy train. There is something really whimsical about flying the squat little 1-16 with swarms of biplanes.

Definitely my favorite moments in the game are the swirling furballs with tons of flak and planes of different types zooming past you all around at different altitudes. The ground attack stuff not so much though I do enjoy bombing ships, like in Fox Hunt.
