Smoke shadows not in correct place.
I'm running 4.12.1 with an NVidia 7950GT.
Often, when a plane is smoking I notice that the shadow of the smoke jumps around and does not connect with the shadow of the plane. Usually it is ahead or behind, or possibly above or below. Any thoughts? |

This won't be directly helpful, but what is a nVidia 7950 GT?
nVidia used to do an 8800 GTX way back ten years or so ago, but I don't remember a 7950 GT, presumably if you didn't make a typo, it's older than the 8800? They're on GTX 980s now, and AMD just passed from HD 7970 to R9 290X. If your card really is that old, it may be time to think about something newer and stronger, IL*2 is built on the old code, but new additions probably assume somewhat newer hardware. |

The type is at least eight years old. As far as I can remember this problem did not occur until 4.12.1.
I will take a look at the shadow settings. |

I remember the 8800 GTX (or was it GTS?) because I had one once. I started with a Geforce 2 GTS/PRO (I know that's not supposed to be a card, it's what the particular maker called it), went on to a Radeon X800 for Pacific Fighters (maybe unnecessarily in hindsight), and upgraded from that system to the GeForce 8800 I think for reasons to do with other games. |
