Default Star Wolves III unplayable because of mouse lag

Hi,

my problem is stated in the name of the trhead. I simply can't play SW3 because of extreme mouse lag. If I move the mouse quickly, it often simply stops. I changed the DPI of my mouse, I changed the moue acceleration in the windows options, and I set SW3 into Win XP mode...but nothing works. I get roughly 130fps in the startp screen and in the tutorial mission. I never experienced such a problem in any game before.

Can anyone help me? I was so looking forward after I saw SW3 on Steam for 5€, because I love the first part and saw the interesting mods here in the forum.

thanks for any help.

I never had this or even hear'd about it, i don't know a fix for that, sorry

have you tried starting steam as Administrator? (I know its a very "INTERESTING" way to fix problems but yeah...)

Hi,

I usually operate my gaming System (Win7 64) with administration rights because I only use it for gaming, not for surfing/working. But I tried it with "right click -> run as administrator". No changes.

I hope someone has a tip for me, because I really want to play SW3!

It works...

I had to change my mouse against a 10 year old model...now the lag is gone and I can play. Still annoying that I have to change the mouse each time I want to play star wolves but...at least it works now

I searched the web for clues and someone said, that he changed the polling rate down from 1000 Hz to 500 Hz in the mouse software. I don't have any mouse specific software installed, so I don't have the option to lower that rate. I then simply plugged in my old mouse and it seems, it's "slower" because it works just fine.

Not the best solution, but as long as I can play the game, I'm happy
