Default Good night online flying CLOD.

DangerMouse and I were on the ATAG server this evening.

First flew a sortie to defend the bases in the south. We caught a flight of Do-17s inbound to Hawkinge. DM got one of them and I got two. We both made it home to Manston for tea and medals.

At this point I got DM's ammo loadout sorted and we went through the compass calibration. (what a pain, can't wait to get in a P 40...LOL!!). We then flew over to France to stir the nest a bit. Came across a flight of Wimpys on their way home that were under attack from two 109s. I got one of the Square Heads, but the other set my engine on fire. So I bailed and landed on the beach. A nice French lass offered me champagne and some pastry before the resistance showed up to whisk me to a boat and back to Jolly Olde...

Meanwhile DM got the other Jerry, but not before getting shot to hell. He flew back across the channel by using his elevator trim only. I took off from Manston and found him and escorted him back to dry land, and he did a masterful job of putting it down in a field. Plane and pilot will fly again.

I'm loving this game. For all it's faults currently, it's still worth the money spent.

More people would play online if ATAG set the servers so you didnt need to take off and start near the action.

Nice, it was much smoother tonight~!

I'm pretty sure we like starting our engine and taking off! That's why we play on ATAG instead of the arcade map that lets you get over enemy bases 30 seconds after takeoff.

Did you note where I said I landed?

The real problem bases are Maidstone and Rochester. Maidstone's spawn points will put you in ground so rough you should be in a tracked vehicle, and Rochester spawns two planes on top of one another causing both to explode.

A base closer to London would be a good idea though, I agree. That said almost all the action is over the Hawkinge/Lympne area, so spawning anywhere else is really a non-issue.

The Axis fliers have not much to worry about at all though. The RAF has no capable attack aircraft at this point in time. Historical, but boring.

Why do you need to take off and start near the action? Almost every single airfield in England and France is spawnable. There's many places you could spawn in a fighter/bomber where you'd have a 40 minute flight just to get to the edge of your own country

Zoom in on the map and have a gander at all the spawnable fields away from the action.

Lol, yeah, instant action you mean, arcade boy?

It would be even better to start in flight with an enemy plane in your gun sights, don't you think?

This is a sim not an arcade, remember. Starting in flight is as fake as a a 3 € coin.o

Exactly. This kind of "players" are usually the main "feature cutting" reason for a real simulation flight experience in this kind of games.

They should be playing BombJack and decide what level they want to start playing on.

+1 I was plying last night in the ATAG server too, did 4 sorties, downed a couple os spits and a blenheim engaged several other ones getting some damage on my plane but I always managed to get back to the base.

Really good time last nite.

ATAG is awesome, I just wish my latency was better with it. With repka I get 48-70 ms ping but with ATAG it's at least 140 sadly. Can't fight geography.
