Default Random crashes, forcing computer restart

When I play any mission, whether it's multiplayer or singleplayer, I will often crash usually after anytime from 10 to 50 minutes of playing - with the game going into a frozen state (the monitor turns off but the audio bugs out) which forces me to do a hard restart of my computer.

I've seen another thread on these forums matching this problem, with an apparent solution to turn the shadows off - which I have since done. This worked for two hours or so but since then the crashing has continued.

Sometimes it is entirely random, crashing at any given time, whilst other times in the past it has been on specific incidents; when I fired a panzerschrek at a tank, or my friend's antitank gun accidentally fired at a wall and blew up - which makes me think it has something to do with the effects, as well as the shadows.

I've tried turning the texture detail and effects down to medium as well, but to no avail. Anti aliasing is off.

I'm fairly sure it's not a computer related problem on my side either, as all my other games have been working flawlessly on relatively high settings.

I'm in the process of reinstalling after deleting all game files and document files for the game, but is there anything I've missed that could stop the crashing?

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

It seems some sort of bad instalation or some files corrupted (maybe the game was installed on a bad sector in disk) try to install the game and don't do a thing in the computer just the install...and do a checkup on the hard drive just to see...or maybe the DVD is messed up...or the files you download...
Good luck

I've downloaded the game straight from Steam, so it's not a disk related problem. I've redownloaded all the files yet still crash, this is very strange..
