Ok, I've been all over the internet, looked at old threads for the original game, looked at the only three i could find with specific reference to the Assault Squad version and nobody has a fix. Thought I'd get the ball rolling here since I know I'm not alone. Other people in the multiplayer lobby were having the same problem.
Everytime I try to enter any multiplayer game, I get a resource desynchronization error. It makes no difference whether the testmode mod in applied or not. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I'm running v2.05.13. When I allow the game attempt to apply the mod to run anyway, I get a CTD with this error. ![]() Thoughts? Thanks. |

When you uninstalled did you also made sure manually to see if all the game files were deleted? Do you ahve the game on steam? Try to delete your profile with configs its under c:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\men of war - assault squad\profiles\ and back it up, also delete shader_cache\ folder thats under c:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\men of war - assault squad\ .
If you are patching manually meaning you have the game not installed on steam make sure you got the right patch, I know there is one for non GOTY and one for GOTY editions... As for mods dont bother with testmode mod for now. If you still receiving desynch problems could be something with another application loaded and interacting with the game such as some kind of protection/anti virus app not sure. |

Ok, I did what you said. Completely uninstalled and deleted everything everywhere. Reinstalled the game and installed the (patch 2.05.13) which didn't mention anything about the GOTY version. I couldn't find any that specifically said "non-GOTY" but this one from GameFront didn't mention it.
Then, I started the game and activated it with the Assault Squad serial key. ***Then, after reading a different thread about activating MoW:AS, I activated the game on Steam with the GameSpy key. Then, I launched the game through Steam and it worked. However, I backed out of the game and immediately exited steam and launched the game through the desktop shortcut and tried to enter a game like I did before and I got the Desynch error again. So, I guess you can get TO the multiplayer lobby and attempt to enter games w/o steam activation but apparently, in order to actually play the game, you NEED to activate MoW:AS on Steam with the GameSpy key (which was provided on the inside cover of the game case for me) then launch through Steam. I wish I'd known this before but I couldn't find any documentation of anything telling me I had to activate the game on Steam. An error message or prompt in hte multiplayer lobby saying the game needs to be activated on Steam first would probably help eliminate this confusion. |
