I wasn't aware there was any problem with opening SFS files either.
I simply googled SFS extraction and hit that on an IL2 forum. As for being banned via Steam, I don't use Steam or fly online so I'm not aware that opening SFS files is considered cheating.

P.S. however for member I have always play the game only offline, because I know the problem with Steam and this sound good. Bye Ivo.
