Default Will ATI 4650 work

Hi!

My friend wants to buy IL2 CLoD, but i saw a list on the webpage that there are just some chosen graphics-cards that works. Not the 4650.
'My question is: Will it work anyhow?

Thank you!

If it do it won't be a pleasant experience....if it was my friend I'd tell him to put the COD money towards a new card.

What i can see, is that the 4650 will work, even if on the lowest settings; according to the specs.

I still doesnt know if it will work even if the model doesn´t is on the list.

here is a pic if you dont know what i am talking about.

sry for big pic.

EDIT: I should say, that i haven´t used "Can you run it" yet. I haven´t had a chance.

I have a 4850 1GB in an older machine (Opteron 165, 4GB, ASUS NF4 chipset ) which works "OK" - if not running really high screen resolutions (1920x1080 is playable but lower has less stutters at very low altitudes ) the new "graphics patch" when it becomes available sometime in Sept. or Oct. should help - IF you have time to experiment, it may be worth doing on his machine but if it's truly a 4650 it may be not worth it ( I also tried a 4850 with 512MB VRAM in the same machine which was "playable" but stuttered badly below 2,000 feet )
IF he can run IL2 1946 version 10 he could probably make COD work for him. ( Though it will not be as good as with one of the current cards in the "mid-range" of the "supported" list. )

A 4850 was a pretty good card.
A 4650 was never much of a gaming card even when it was new. Another problem is it came in to flavors, AGP and PCI-E...if its PCI-E at least the PC may be upgradeable. If you live close to him you can go to his house log into your Steam account download it and try it but I dunno.

My HD4870 had its hands full running the game at 30FPS, a HD4650 is not even a third as powerful as that. Don't waste your money buying the game if you can't play it at least 30FPS, because anything less is unplayable and too unresponsive.

Thanks for all the answers. I better tell my buddy to get a new computer...

It isn´t funny to play this game if it lags.
