Default Configuration Files

I got the d/l version after the 14588 patch was out so this past patch was my first official automatic d/l.

Steam over wrote my stick axes and key mappings. It set them all back to default. It also reset all my difficulty settings.

What files do I need to back up to prevent this in the future?

Or is there a way to prevent Steam from resetting those files?

I'm not sure where the control bindings are officially stored, but the best idea is to get all your controls set up how you like them, then save them as (say) Troll-Stix.cfg. Keep a copy of this file safe somewhere and just drop it in when needed.

When you set up your Flightsitck and Keyboard assignments use the 'Save' option before exiting back to the main menu. These setings will be saved in separate files that are not affected by updates, etc. You will be able to load them when ever necessary.

Might be an idea to back them up anyway (they are in your 1cSoftclub folder and identified by the name you gave them)

Im pretty sure if you enable steam cloud sync under COD properties>updates it will keep your settings backed up on steam. I deleted all my ini files the other day and then re-enabled cloud sync and it put them all back with my assignments!
