Get a neck brace..
![]() Use default profile smooth at first and if its trackIR5 take note of the program and how the graphs/sliders work in relation to your head movement then adjust if necessary.. when in TrackIR program..goto views and select 'Show HUD' it gives you a 'mock' cockpit and allows you to see what your head movements are doing in relation to the game and you can adjust as required.. hth |

Your gonna love it
Suggest you slow the panning, and up the smoothness for CloD. Play with the sliders in profile to get the correct curve. In game just move your head about in cockpit till it feels right. Oh and try opening the canopy to see when taxiing, Remember when updating TrakIr software First you have to uninstall your present TrakIr software, then UNPLUG your TrackIR. Install the new software and THEN plug in your trackIr so that your software can then "detect" it . Phew. Its cumbersome but if you dont your TIR wont work, at least thats how it works for me, I use TIR5 . Enjoy. Its great and you will never be able to fly without it again. |

TIR is wonderful. I suggest turning off all of the degrees of freedom except the x and y (ie the left-right and up-down rotation) until you have the hang of it. You can then introduce the other degrees of freedom as wanted (for ww2 a/c I only use the left-right lateral motion in addition to the x and y). If you try to use them all at the start you may get seasick! To turn them on/off just untick the boxes for each axis on the advanced view profile details .

Congratulations dude! It'll take a wee bit of getting used to, but will totally change your game.
If I remember correctly, the default settings will have a dead zone at the centre point, graduating to greater sensitivity at the sides. I would remove that dead zone on the main axes for looking around - ie X and Y (looking left/right/up/down). Your view will be wobbly for a bit while you get used to keeping your head steady, but its better without the dead zones because you will want to be able to glance at your instruments, or over your wing, without having to use a pronounced head movement. It only takes a very subtle shift and just seems natural. For the 6DOF (head shift) settings I would keep a dead zone so that for the most part your head will stay centred on the gunsight. Without the DZ I found my head would inconciously drift, and I quickly got uncomfortable trying to sit in _exactly_ the position that would keep my view squared. With the small DZ in the peripheral axes I can still shift my head in the cockpit, but do it by choice rather than by accident. T.

Take a profile and increase the response about 100% but keep it relatively linear. You will end up with a V that is fairly shallow.. This will allow you to get full range without really cranking your kneck. If you have a lot of trouble aiming at first, create a dead spot in the center so it requires more than a tiny head movement to move the view..

You will enjoy your TIR5!
Set your keys in the profile to recenter and turn off and on; a must. When TIR5 is off you can use your hat switch. flyer01 |
