Default Magnetic north, geographic north & map

Hello,

I had troubles to follow a path, comparing the real compass in no-cokcpit view and the magnetic compass in the spit file, I see about 7-8 degree difference.

I realize that if you follow the magnetic compass, you end up having this degree of shift counter-clockwise.

Is thjis really taken in account ? That would be then the source of my calculation having led me to forest areas whereas I should have arrived at a destination airfield.

Thanks.

JF

Its Magnetic Variation and its 10 West.

So to determine the Magnetic heading to fly proceed as follows.

1. Measure the true track on the map.
2. Add 10 degrees to the value found in step 1 to convert it to Magnetic.
3. Fly the heading found in game

EXAMPLE
You measure the True track on the map as 347deg.
You add 10 degrees to convert this to a Magnetic heading. .... i.e. 357deg
You then fly 357 in game.

TIP
Variation WEST magnetic BEST
Variation EAST magnetic LEAST

Yes, was a typo, read 357.
