Default Head shake - what's up with it?

I love this feature, I love how my head is exposed to G-forces and everything.

However, in the Spitfire above 50% throttle my head shakes like CRAZY! even in level flight, as if a giand shook my plane. I haven't tried it in other planes yet.

It seems to be totally bugged, which is a shame, because it would be a nice feature.

I love the feature as well.

When it's shaking like that, it's because your engine isn't running right - aka cylinder missfires. Try adjusting your mixture and see if it doesn't smooth out.

No, it is not bugged, me thinks. I occasionally have this when something is not working well with my plane. Either damage or badly set up. Perhaps you experience turbulences. Usually it is quite smooth. So dear dev team, don't turn it down.

Another thing that could cause this big shaking in the RAF planes is when you get very high. Then the Merlin constantly missfires. This is though not a problem of the head shake but a problem that makes ALL planes not go to their ceiling altitude currently. This issue has already been addressed though and I am sure the dev team is working on it.

I think the planes should shake to a certain extent naturally but that is just a guess. Would like to know the opinion of a real vintage ww2 ac pilot.

Does the durbulence go away when I throttle back? I don't think so.

It's mostly noticeable at higher altitudes. Mixture? If it's not properly set up then it's a bug, because teh Spitfire is supposed to have AUTOMATIC mixture. Maybe it has something to do with what you said about planes not reaching their ceiling. Perhaps the mixture is bugged?

It's either mix, prop/torque settings. It also shakes when engine is close to overheat.

Most common cause of this is improper radiator management.

Keep in mind, even if the radiator is in the open (cool) position when you spawn, the engine treats it as closed, "close" and open it again to keep the engine temp down. Open it all the way and it should never come back but you will limit your top speed.

Also, if you right click and create a new window then alt-right click on that and move "engine" and "vehicle damage" to the left column then press ok, you will have a window that tells you any problems, VERY useful!
