Why are they so anti swastika's? I understand that not everyone likes them...but for a series as historically accurate as this it seems a little odd.

They are illegal in Germany...so could not be included in the game. But they are historically correct so someone needs to come up with a mod.

good luck selling it in germany...

The symbol represents one of the worst cases of ideology gone wrong bringing the entire world into war. And this very day some punks still think it's cool to be nazis.

I would not want to release a product with anything representing that ingame. However, for historical accuracy, it's O.K for me to have it, and also O.K NOT to have it implemented. I completely understand the reason why that isn't included in the game.

The devs stated there are legal issues in Russia.
I believe in Germany there are issues as well.

Whatever people think of it, the devs have to deal with the fact that IF they allow swastika's they may well go to jail in Russia. Even if some modder made a mod for it. So be careful what you wish for.

Historical correctness has to face borders as well.

It makes a difference if someone is watching a photo of WW2 on which a swastika could be seen or if real people are flying around in a sim with a swastika on their tail.

A sim is not a time document. One could argue that movies are not time documents either but those movies are "anti-war" movies.

Is Il2 an anti-war sim? I don't believe so.

Anyhow. Give me an option to turn this f* crap off and I won't complain if it comes with the sim.

If the mod is outside of the developers control then it's nothing to do with them. They're available in IL2 aren't they? And the devs aren't in jail.

Assuming the developers aren't allowed to touch it, I think you'd be better discussing a solution on a forum that is not linked to the developers.

As I said on some other post discussing this SWTK issue...

IMHO to play this game and being alarmed/infuriated by the SW is highly hypocritical.

let´s not show th SW, even when it is historically accurate, but let´s play to kill people and bomb the shit out of cities.

It just does not make sense to me.

by an Ausländer in germany.

Because the Swastika represents a broad ideology that is not limited to just the war, and is still to this day used by racist groups.

It also runs into legal problems in germany, russia and other european nations I believe. Since that other absurd thread was posted yesterday, I would say its probably best to let this issue sit/slide atleast for now. I dont see why you feel that the Wehmarcht Iron cross is not enough.

Ironic that we keep getting seemingly axis sympathetic Austrians posting, they unlike Germany did not undergo a de-Nazification process...

People have there underwear too tight. YOU ban an ancient hindu (I think) symbol of peace and love and all that because one guy put it on a flag and then invaded and raped and pillaged other countrys. If thats the case they should ban crosses and every religious symbol as every religion has done the exact same thing. Can you say the crusades??
