A closer look at what? I don't get it.

If i remember rightly he's talking about zooming in. Try pressing 'X' or Square, or pressing LT Or L1.

Yup. I finally got it.

The Tutorials are pretty forgiving.

I've labeled my Saitek Joystick Buttons to make it easier.
