Default Multiplayer Questions (PS3)

I just have a couple questions for those playing BOP online on the PS3.

1) What control settings do most multiplayer matches use? I don't have a joystick or rudder pedals so I'm pretty much restricted to Arcade settings.

2) Are there any framerate issues with multiplayer like there are in singleplayer?

Your input will determine if this game is a rental or a purchase for me. Thanks

I have heard there are more arcade settings online, but I don't fly in that mode I host games on realistic and sim mode. Flying with a gamepad is not that bad you don't need a stick to play in realistic.

This game is a must buy for anyone thrilled with flying and dogfighting.

I have not seen any framerate issues with planes jumping around but I have seen the game pause for a fraction of a second now and then but it is not bad, it is so much fun i don't even notice it.

EDIT: I fly with gamepad and AV8R flight stick

Thanks for the info. Just one more question:

What percentage of online servers are using Arcade controls?

I know that I could play on Realistic with a regular controller, but I would have a huge disadvantage against people with a proper joystick. The reason for the thread is because game rentals are over $10 now and I would rather put that money towards buying a game. It's either going to be this or Heroes Over Europe and online play is the main factor for determining which one to buy.

P.S. - Please don't say, "Just buy a joystick" because I only have enough money to buy a game right now.

I don't think you "need" a joystick, I play with my gamepad when I don't want to pull my ps3 off of the shelf, (becaue the cord on my flight stick won't reach) get out my stand for the stick, get out the stick, move my chair, and get a beer . I have played online with people that are using a stick when I was using my pad and played just as good as I did with my stick.

I just like to use the stick when I can play a long time and I want the whole immersive feeling.

Anton should be making a statement about a stick for the ps3 soon, but I can't tell you what to buy, I like my AV8R and I almost bought a Thrustmaster but I decided not to because I already have the AV8R and I would hate to get use to one stick and not use the other one anymore.
