Default Why no Swastikas?

I was watching the Trailer for BOP, and noticed the Ju-87 had none on it's tail. What's with that? Are they afraid of a renewal of Nazism?

If the Kraut Planes can't wear swastikas, then, they should strip off all the Red Stars from the Soviet aircraft.

After all, compared to Stalin, Hitler was a Red Cross Nurse, as far as Total Body Counts are concerned. Stalin far exceeded Hitler in sheer murderous terror. And, yes, Hitler was a treacherous bastard. We all know that.

I don't mean this to devolve into a Political Thread, but, a lack of Swastikas seems ridiculous, at least to my historical sensibilities.

Pu 'em back on.

I agree, no point creating a historical simulation and removing the symbols which were so relevant.
I doubt anyone offended by the Swastikas would actually purchase and play this game anyway!

Hi !

Simple Reason...

In some European countries, like Germany or Austria, the public display of Swastikas is forbidden by law. As the game is distributed worldwide, I guess the development team just wanted to avoid any legal hassle with any authorities.

Of course it is now lacking a bit the historic accuracy, but I guess most European players won´t miss them or might feel offended if they were included.

If you might have seen the the "Valkyrie" Movie with Tom Cruise...During the shot of the flight scenes the Swastikas needed to be covered on the planes (Public Display) while on Ground for the Studio Shots they were shown.

Greetings from Germany

then how did they make the shot in front of the brandenburger tor where there's like 60 banners with swastika's? maybe they added them in with CGI afterwards?

Actually that is the old building of the "Berlin Messe" or Berlin Fair. It was mostly closed to Public during the movie. On the government buildings which are still in use today, part was real part was CGI.

Cheers

The UK is bad for being a 'Nanny state' but it seems to be spreading. Old films will not have the references and symbols removed, but it is deemed necessary not to implement them in new games.
Political correctness going mad.
Ignoring what they represented, I actually love some of the German Symbols from the war in an artistic view (and I'm not into art), they really added to the look of the vehicle be it a tank or a plane.

Come on Devs at least let non-German single player regions have the full detail/

Swastikas are no longer allowed in games. It has been argued for historical accuracy and many other reasons, but it's a political thing.
