Default FW190D9 on Realistic or sim

Hey guys,

Living in canada I have only just got the game and am working on Stalingrad so... I'm impatient and am curious what your thoughts are on the D9, I hear the 190A5/F8 are pigs to fly what about the Dora anyone use it? Anyone like it?

I was trying the Dora out last night on a training mission and I'm having a hell of a time flying it. Spitfire IX was running circles around me while I was having difficulty climbing an diving with him. Speed was decent and of course turning was not recommended. Rolls were great though. I'm not an experienced Fw driver but I am having a difficult time justifying flying the FW over the 109. You can unlock the 190 in one of the single Bulge missions.

The Dora is a good plane.... kinda. Usually if I try it out, I roll into a turn since they do have good roll rates. But it handles the same really as the A5 & F8 sadly. Though when I did get it, I called my mother and asked why she was named after a Fw-190 (she wasn't really.)

I tried it in 1 online match. Its perfectly fine as a hit and run aircraft. If you are good at gunnery you will be fine. Knock them down soon because you wont be able to turn with them.

I did find it very easy to get away if I ran into trouble.

The ME 262........now thats an entirely different story.

Do tell! I haven't flown hardly anything yet...
I've flown against 262's in Team Battle and every once in a while they'll zoom by through the fight, fire a couple of shots and disappear for a few minutes while they circle back. They usually end up with 1 or 2 kills and no deaths, it just doesn't seem that exciting. Am I the only one that thinks kills should be just a little bit easier on realistic and sim? Obviously arcade is way too easy but I think the other two modes are a bit too hard... Basically you have energy fighters and turn fighters and from what I can see the energy fighters cannot do enough damage in one pass to be effective. It's a shame because some of the best fighters of the era ecelled and running and gunning but are not as effective here... at least as I've experienced so far.

You've probably seen and read about it already? The Me262 is just a flat out terrible plane to fly in BoP. The speed, doesn't seem to be as fast as it should, and I don't fly it so much because of the terrible turning (obviously because it's a jet and going WAY faster.) And just the controls are really hard to keep stable.

I agree, I am primarily a 109 pilot, and I have yet to play a game that gives it a fair representation. Unfortunatly, BOP is no different. Its closer, but not good enough.

The 262 is TERRIBLE, perhaps its fine attacking bombers, but thats all. I got no deaths the only time I used it, but also no kills. I made someone smoke but thats all.

That's why I stick to my trusty Yak-3, it never does me wrong. Stable, maneuverable, and fast. Also, it's easy to lure 190s and 109s into my web of death!!!1

I've had no problem with the 109's..I fly the G-6 almost exclusively online after switching from the F-4. Once you get in nice and close, won't need to fire for more than a quarter of a second before they're nothing but a wreck falling out of the sky. With energy fighters you -have- to play in Sim mode. You just can't get that surprise attack in Realistic unless the person you're going after has major target fixation on the person they're trying to kill. Sim mode...Sim mode..Play sim mode! Only play sim mode.....!
Maybe I can start hypnotizing people or something.

P.S. SIM MODE!
