Default Something to think about when you have that $60 in hand.

First off, let me say hello.
I have been lurking these forums for awhile now, but this is my first post.

I, like most of you here, have been waiting for this game for some time now. As the release date get closer, we are finding out info on the game that has some of us worried. The cockpit issue (still not sure what final word on that is) had me thinking about not getting the game.

But then I started thinking. Even though it looks like this wont be the "sim" I was hoping for, will I get $60 worth of enjoyment out of the game? I sure think I would. Also, if this game does not sell, we can almost guarantee that we will not see a sequil or something like it again. If this game has the sales behind it, maybe we'll gate a major TU that corrects alot, or the dev will make a second game, one that is more like what the community was looking for in the first game.

I guess in short, I AM going to buy this game. I want to show the devs that, while I'm not getting what I originally thought, I will support them in the hopes that they will turn it into the "sim" I was hoping for.

What do you guys think?

First off, here in America the game is $50 usd, not $60. But I'm sure you'll get $60 worth of fun out of BoP.

I'm about 50/50 right now. I really want this game to sell well so a seqeal is made. In that respect I want to support it. I believe after reading all the complaints on these forums the devs would seriously improve on what's been given for this first run.

I've just been so spoiled, as have many others, by 1946 on the PC so it's hard to go with less "sim". I do really like the idea of relaxing on the couch in front of the plasma with Il-2 though. I keep saying to myself I will just wait a couple weeks after release and see what transpires... hopefully a patch for some of the major issues will be announced. (such as controller config and the missing stall sound effect).

We shall see..... I'm sure my OCD will kick in and I'll just end up purchasing on release day.

NO you will only get $50 of enjoyment., because this like most other new PS3/360 games retails for $50 or less.

The great misconception is that most new PS3/360 retils for $60, but this is totally false, and the opposite is true. Most new PS3/360 games retail for $50 or less.

If you look at Gamestop.com you will find that the majority of games retail for $50 or less, and this has been happening for a while. Fewer, and fewer games are retailing for $60. This trend has been going on for a while, and we are now at the point where the majority of new games coming out retail for $50 or less.

Both BOP, and HOE retail for $50.

The purpose of the thread was not the price if ps3 and xbox 360 games. I also realize that knowone NEEDS this game.

I was hoping that if you are on the fence about the game, I could give another reason to tip the scales. I just want to see as many of you online as possible and I want future game like this.

I can understand if you play on pc, there's s more options for you, as a flght fan.

But for console ppl that are fans of realistic, or semi-realistic, flight games, i would see no reason not to get it, other than expenses or time.
