Hello,
I live in Australia/Darwin, and we have poor support for products here, but I finally found a copy of 1946. I was wondering what I should have received in the box. I have two DVD's. But I read in PC Pilot's reveiw (I believe), that it included maps. Should there have been a manual or is that on the disc? Thanks for a great looking simulation. Allan |

Hi from Perth,
The maps are on one of the disks, as well as the user manual. The manual is actually the Pacific Fighters manual with any alterations listed in the readme files. Cheers! Quote:

G'day, that was quick. Thanks.
Do I need to update with any patch's? I just had a look on the disc and found the maps, but they are tga, and I could not open them, so my other newby question is, how is that done? Thanks Last edited by AllanPrewett2000; 02-12-2009 at 12:16 AM. |

There are updates available for the game, but the game plays just fine right off the DVD. If you want to play online at HyperLobby etc, then you should update the game to 4.08m. Before you do that play the local game for awhile to be sure it plays ok for you.
Google "tga viewer" Just in case here is the URL http://google.com Then in the dialog box type "tga viewer" ... enjoy the game and welcome to IL2 1946! |

as a fellow perth boy and Il2 enthusiast, i highly recommend downloading hyperlobby and team speak. playing il2 in a server like spits v 109s and using teamwork to hit a target or to shoot down an aircraft increases enjoyment of the game ten fold.
