Is it normal to start off a "normal" difficulty game, and in the starting area have troops that are "very weak" as well as "impossible"?
The troop sizes seem a bit random, I guess the maps are randomly generated? Also, does a specific troop size ever change in an area? I had banners being guarded by troops that were "impossible", and a level or two later they were "very weak" and pathetically easy. It didn't seem like the level increase warrented the huge decrease in difficulty, so I thought either the game changed the troop size, or something else attacked the troop to make it smaller? Also... it's annoying running around an area (It was the swamps I think) with a decently sized army, and be fighting very weak armies of around 50 creatures max, and then being hit by a massive 500+ creature army. I'd think each area would have similarly sized armies? Is it really that random? Except for the randomness of army sizes, I'm really enjoying the game. Thanks in advance for the help! ![]() |

There's a high degree of randomness per game, but it's clearly not totally random (i.e., each map area has it's own restrictions as to troop type and difficulty that you will face).
As to troop size changing once placed, I don't think so. Note that the displayed difficulty (weak, impossible, etc.) isn't just a factor of your level. It's a factor of what your army is composed of, as well. It's likely that you picked up additional troops or switched to a powerful troop type. As to mixed armies in an area, the game has a bit of a "figure out the maze element." It's clearly not designed for you to "sweep" an area all at once. Instead, you should pick off what you can in the north, then get what you can in south, then go back north. |
