Roasted rats

Are they worth it? I remember in my previous games I gobbled them up without thinking about it, but now I'm wondering if the +2 to mana and rage is worth the 50 leadership decrease.

Any thoughts?

It's half a level's worth each of rage and mana for a tiny fraction of a level's worth of leadership.

Alternatively, if there was a shrine which would give you +16 rage and +16 mana or +400 leadership, which would you choose?

I'd take the +400 leadership because I base my strategy as much off of strength of troops as the chest of rage

400 leadership is more important at the early part of the game, but is less significant once you hit 10,000+ leadership. After that, the +16 rage/mana is more important.

I myself did not immediately use the rats. Midway into the dwarven lands, and when my paladin was getting 700+ leadership gains during level-ups, that's the time I used up the rats. I actually timed it during a level-up at level 14 wherein I got 700 leadership. So that ended up like +300 leadership/+16 rage/+16 mana.

Just to add - after you kill Baron Ahey, the dwarves get different text to tell you, but they still sell rats - it just becomes less and less frequent. Park next to one and left click/ESCAPE on them until you see a text that has two lines... had to do it a lot before getting rats.

Oh and funny thing, in Armored Princess found my first roasted rat on the Scarlet Wind island - tavern owner sells it for 6000 gold!!! Guess we had a real bargain with the dwarves, no?

I you do not stop asking the dwarfs you end up with 7 i think.
You can ask again any dward who did not gave you any yer vene it seems he do not want to give, somtimes he just do if you bother him enough.
