Need Help with Modding in UP 3

Hi guys, I just recently started playing 1946 and wanted to start installing some mods. I already have the sim patched to 4.10.1 running UP 3 RC4 outside of C/Programfiles.

I backed up everything and tried installing GunnerFX 4.3 with no luck( crash at 5%) the same happened with another clean install( 4.10.1 and up 3 rc4) while trying to install the Ultimate Sound Mod. I followed the instructions for each one but it is really hard to get it right unless I have a dumbed down step by step guide. I was pointed to download some files( sfs I think) just in case they were missing and even with those I had the same problem.

I read that mods should be in the #UP# folder but I dont know how that works and where extacly to put the files.Is there anyone here kind enough to get me through this process pointing out exactly what I need and what I need to do?
