Default Fuel...87 octane or 100 ?

What fuel do the Spitfire MKIIa and Hurricanes MK1a (Rotol) use, 87 or 100 octane?

I see chat here and there about it but no answer for my question. If both are available how do you select what fuel to use? I only see the ability to select how much fuel to take.

Spit 2a uses 100.
You cannot change fuel type.

Does anyone know what fuel the Hurricane uses?

I'm guessing the same as the Spit seen they used pretty much the same engine.

I don't think your guess is accurate.
Unless you are flying the specified 100 Octane Hurricane, the octane rating is 87.

The Octane rating is dependent on the date and location. Most Hurricanes in southern England during the Battle of Britain used 100 octane fuel and Rotol propellers.
I do not know the dates or bases, some other knowledgeable person may be able to help you.

The CLOD engine does even look at Octane ! ... it has no knowledge of it.

It simply says If in this aeroplane then give +12Lbs Boost at max chat. Historically we know that +12Lbs Boost was only available to when using 100 octane fuel.

So if you like the only RAF aeroplanes that are capeable of +12Boost are:

Spitfire IIA (Because as default IRL it used 100 Octane Fuel)
Spit IA 100 Octane
Hurricane I 100 Oct

All others give you +6.25Lbs Boost max chat to simulate 87 Octane fuel.

Thanks guy's, very helpful info here. I have now settled on the SpitfireMKIIa and HurricaneMKIa 100 octane to introduce and a small group of flyers for online mission testing.
