Default Setting up Missions on another PC

Hi,

I have an idea to create missions whilst there are "quiet" moments at work. I am downloading Steam and CLOD as I type this.

Question - The PC I am using at work is not up to running CLOD in terms of CPU/Graphics capability. If I go into CLOD through my Steam account and either update or create a new mission in FMB, do I need to have exactly the same spec as my gaming PC at home - i.e. 1.08 Beta patch, SMAA etc, etc?

Will I have to verify the game when I get to my gaming PC or will the missions exist and be playable at home?

Thoughts? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

same patch is a good idea- missions created using 100 octane spits/hurris in 1.08 won't play on a 1.05 install. Missions created in any previous version will play on a later patched version- tho they may not play out exactly- changes in AI, changes in takeoff routine can have effects.

To get the missions you created you will have to copy the files (mission, briefing, script files as well as any pics/sounds used in briefing) to the same directory on your gaming computer (usb key/email?)

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I will download and install 1.08 on the work PC. The idea is to set up the main components of a mission and then finally tweak it at home. From what you have said it is possible to achieve this.

One question though - Do I have to verify the game, it means I will have to reinstall patches and all the other little "tweaks" every time I set a mission up remotely.

Thanks again Bolox.

can't see why you would should need to verify(but this is steam)-I'd just put steam into offline mode at work (and auto updates off) -if possible

Steam will ask you if this is your new pc or something, I think you will have to click a verification email ever time you log in on the other PC.

Thanks for that. I have a feeling you are right. No hardship to obtain and enter the code. It won't be everytime - only when I muck about on the work PC to create a mission.

Downside is that the FMB (surprisingly) takes up so much memory in 3D mode that the mouse cursor struggles to move fluidly. I have already set up two basic missions just to see if the process works and emailed the files back to me to pick up later at home.

In a nutshell, I don't think I have gained anything in that I could have set these missions up at home in a fraction of the time. That is unless you have any tips for optimising FMB in 3D mode on a low performing PC?

Thanks for the feedback though.
