Default What's with the AI - is it still a WIP

I prefer to play off-line. I got a new video card (Nvidia 560) just to play this and X-Plane. IL2 CoD works great, I can even use my old MS Sidwinder Precision 2 joystick. I give you developers credit for creating a fine looking game as the graphics and attention to detail are first rate.

However, on my first mission flying a Bf 110 I shot down 3 Spits. I just flew right up behind them and down they went. I expected to have a real struggle on my hands faced with 3 Spitfires and me in a Bf 110. Is this the type of AI behavior that is typical to this game? Are, like the old IL2, the AI brain dead when they get into a landing pattern?

Also the brakes, are they a finished product as well?

I wished the devs could implement the AI the latest IL2:1946. They can't see through clouds anymore and are pretty smart for AI's.
