Default RAF Typhoons at Northolt - Amazing Pics

RAF Typhoons based at RAF Northolt, west London, for Operation Olympic Guardian.

You gotta love these, especially the 7th one. That's what you call noise abatement procedure!

lol dude, the only one that comes close in terms of look it's the Rafale, but the EFA still looks better than the rest. Its proportions, fuselage shape and the peculiar intakes make for a great looking machine.

I see a lot of Typhoons where I live, generally behaving rather dramatically, and they're fantastic looking machines. They're also LOUD, definitely dialled all the way to 11.

But.

They're not as loud as the F-15s. F-15s are so loud they make my 11 month old son cry.

Ah yes, the F-15s. One of my all time faves. I spent some time at RAF Lakenheath watching them take-off. Indescribably loud to anyone who has never heard them.

Listen to the old F-4 Phantoms on a hot takeoff, that's noise! I love the lower rumbling noises that jet made. Newer jets are too high pitched, like girl voices compared to the deep bass rumblins of the Phantoms...
