Default [MoW:AS] Commanders of War III

Commanders of War III is a realism mod for the game Men of War: Assault Squad. It takes place in the war-torn Europe of late WW2 (1944-1945). Its main focus is larger battles with an emphasis on infantry and light-medium equipment and armor rather than heavy armor; a wide variety of units — especially for the infantry — and realistic tank combat.

Larger battles
The optional CP limits have been dramatically increased - including an unlimited option, where the size of your forces is only limited by your resources. Consequently, you won't have to phase out obsolete units (by having them killed) so you can buy another unit that you need more at the time. A tank such as the PzKpfw III can remain useful throughout the game, even when the enemy fields heavier armor, since you can pull it back and use it to guard the rear or shell enemy infantry from afar when it's safe.

Tank combat
In Commanders of War III all of the armor penetration values are based on @0° penetration; as a result, all tanks — even the heavy ones — are far more vulnerable, and lighter tanks have a better survivability against heavier ones. Special shells, such as HEAT, APCR/HVAP and APDS are also available, further helping tanks combat each other and adding to tactical depth. However, APCR and APDS shells have an inferior performance upon penetration, so they should only be used against heavy armor that can't otherwise be reliably penetrated.

It's perhaps also worth mentioning that all of the tanks and tank destroyers have realistic turret traverse speeds; it will for instance take up to two minutes for a Wolverine/Achilles to rotate its turret a full 360°! For most of the tanks, a full rotation will only take 12-25 seconds, though.

Combat ranges
The combat ranges have been dramatically increased. The majority of tanks and AT guns have a range of 200m; artillery — both light and heavy — have a range of 350m; mortars have a range of 160m and for the infantry, AT weapons have 40-50m of range, SMGs 60m and rifles and machineguns 100m.
