Default Game Unplayable

PC Specs

8GB DDR3 ram
Phenom X4 955 3.2ghz
Radeon HD5770

I just bought the game today during the Steam sales after seeing all the patches that have come out for it. I left graphics on medium, set up my joystick and went to play. Only when the level finally loaded, I was getting graphical glitches everywhere, the game was a slideshow and my plane wasn't responding at all to my joystick, I just had a mouse cursor. Any help here?

Screenshot of the graphical glitches.

turn off epilepsy filter.

unless you are eptileptic. if you are turn it off knowing you will die soon.

for GFx settings try

model: high
building: medium
land : high
forest : off
visual effects: medium
textures : high

AA - off
epilepsy - off
ssao - off
vsinc - on

damage decals - high
building ammount - high
land shading - medium

grass- off
shadows - off
roads - off

Take notice this is waht reasearch has shwon to be minimun settings. changing any of these either going up or down, will get you less FPS. so putting building ammount to low, will decrease your fps, as an example.

Also AI causes stutter, this si not graphics. this settings will give you about 60 fps in online play, and will stutter only if AI is around.

good luck

About the joystick: if you have both joystick and rudder pedal, the game will not recognize neither of them. In this case, you must manually map axes and buttons all again. Takes some time, but after it's done, it works like a charm.
