Just annoys the hell out of me when someone wants to vent and they get jumped on by the same ol people, too add to their pain they now have to use a shyte translator to find out the future of the release cuz nothing is posted in here..

Alpha I don't understand why being a simmer has anything to do with it?..are you saying simmers wait to get feedback before buying games and are unlike say a FPS gamer who would cue up all night to be first through the door?

I don't agree with that mate, especially when you know who and have trust in the developer? Not to mention the countless screenies, notes, videos etc you've been subject too....in fact I wouldn't say there are that many people at all who would after such a long wait would say "actually nope I don't trust my trusted developer with this one, il hold on for a month while everyone else enjoys it to see if it's runs ok or does actually have said content".....come on.

Like you said its going off topic but that line about you should of waited, you had a choice is a lame excuse to cover up the wrongs..
I hope Warbirds Of Prey - Spits VS 109s will start a COD server soon if they do they probably will have a small rotation of missions rather than the same thing day in day out. Some Channel missions then a Battle Of France for example. I think IL-2 Spits VS 109s MODS has a rotation of 20 missions.

Gonna be hard to do BoF with no French planes.

Well I'd rather be missing the French aeroplanes than flying over that channel ever single mission wouldn't you? Or come to think of it I'd just like to spawn from a different base sometimes.

Well, I flew blue last night for a change and had a look around France from the open pit of my G.50. The sky is the same as on the other side of the Channel.

COD doesn't work like that. You don't have mission variety which you rotate afaik. You have a main mission and script which calls other sub missions and events - whatever is in the code.

Here's the thing:

If you can manage to script in the changing of airfields from blue control to red control and vice versa that will change EVERYTHING.

You could start the 'mission' with everything setup in a Battle of France configuration. Then, script changes that shift the front and eventually you get a Dunkirk evacuation type event. Again, shift and you're into fighting over the channel - all without loading the map again.

If you're getting really creative you might be able to script in a 'conquest' style map like Battlefield 3 does it. Might not be historical, but your actions matter.

It all depends on if there's a way for the ownership of airfields to change dynamically during the time the server is running, and if you can trigger that change via actions taken by the players.

If I had a server what's stopping me shutting it down and putting up a different mission every 12 hrs?

So you're saying the map..the front.. could move on it's own without loading a new one?

Why do you need a different map? There is only one decent one. There was nothing more annoying on 1946 than climbing to altitude for 20 mins, getting into a fight only to have the map change just as the excitement started.

In this you have can take a patrol and the server, in the meantime, can load and run a new mission whilst you are flying. It do things like surround you with AI enemy on a trigger if you pass through a sector if it's set up like that. Point is that missions are starting and finishing all the time, only without the hassle of stopping and reloading.

So you would rather fly for weeks on end on the same map? A Battle Of Britain map no Battle Of France.
