I apologize if this is in the wrong area, I didn't know where else to put it.

I'm having problems playing this game. For those familiar with it, here is what I'm experiencing:

I started playing the German campaign, once I get past the training phase, the first mission is 'Nijmegen Bridge', as soon as I complete it, instead of going on to the next mission, it instead returns to the training part. No matter what I try it keeps sending me back. I'm at version 1.04.1. Is there something I'm missing, is this a common problem?

This has occurred on two different computers, with two different versions of the game. One is the CD-ROM retail version and the other I downloaded from GMG.

Also during the training part there's an officer gives an option to 1) join a commando squad, or 2) go to the front in a tank. If I choose the second option it still sends you to the commando squad. Is this just badly scripted? I assume joining the commando squad is the only real option.

Thanks that would help. Any idea how to apply this mod? (which folder to put the files in?)

There is a "ReadMe" file in the zip that tells you what to do. I've used this myself when I played FoW.

I got this resolved. There are little picture cards of each mission at the bottom of the screen in each campaign. You just have to select the next one manually because it, for whatever reason, doesn't choose the next mission automatically. I hope this helps anyone else with this problem. I don't like the layout of this game as much as others in the series, but it's still fun.

There's no readme. I've searched the net for info as well. I'm going to post his on DMS as well.

According to a walkthrough this should happen after you cross the ice on the river. I can't get this guy to appear, so either it's bugged or I'm not able to trigger this event.

Anyway, I killed everyone, played the entire mission twice, tried numerous reloads. Now I just want to move to the last level in this campaign but I can't.

Anyone who knows how to install this "unlock all missions" cheat please let me know.

or you can try this,
Locate your "game_progress" file, here is the path for me.
C:\Users\jim\Documents\my games\faces of war\profiles\player
copy/paste it some where in case something goes wrong. Then just copy/paste the "game_progress" file you found in that "unlock all missions" cheat. I just did it and it worked for me. Hope that helps. I have the same version.

Okay I did have the readme, my apologies. I had to look up how to open a NFO file.

I've tried pretty much everything at this point. Maybe it's because I have a downloaded version of the game. I have the original CD-ROM somewhere once I find it I'll try this on that version. It's weird though because I can use mods with this version. Thank you very much for your assistance.
