Default Headmovement of the bombercrews

is there a special reason why the headmovements of the bombercrews is, in comparison to the fighterpilots, so limited ??

Ha! Say that to a B-17 ball turret gunner

I just hope they sort out the stupid LW model of the observer/front gunner holding his hands in the air...

Luthier said in a post a while back that they 'had a gazillion crew animations gathering dust' whilst they get the fps issues sorted, so hopefully proper crew animations should start to appear soon, lets hope

i mean the field of view you can get when looking around.
the fighterpilots are able to look around almost 360degrees.
the bomberpilots much less, not to speak about the other crewmembers.
also it would be nice if the gunner's guns would not move before one would have activated the "lean forward" command.

It appears that all non pilot positions are limited to a FOV of about 180 degrees (that is 90 degrees left or right - depending on the position of the crew member) and that this also applies to the pilot when in "Lean to gunsight" view.

Why the COD devs did not use the il2 1946/FB Controls as their benchmark and then add any enhancements to cater for the increased complexity/immersion of COD is beyond me. COD's "Views" are a case in point - the il2 1946/FB model has almost a decade of testing/acceptance by the community - why not retain controls such as "Toggle Gunsight" both in naming convention and functionality as they are proven, understood and accepted.

In il2 1946/FB when in "Toggle Gunsight" you can still glance back more than 90 degrees left or right - just to check if a sneaky enemy wingman has not drop onto your tail when you are lining up his leader for a burst - whereas in COD you must come out of "Lean to gunsight" to do this which means that you are more likely to lose situational awareness due to the bouncing effect of toggling between "Lean to gunsight" and the normal view pilot view.

My recommendation for the devs is this - compare the COD Controls to the il2 1046/FB Controls both for naming convention and functionality. For those COD Controls with similar functionality to the il2 1946/FB Controls, keep the il3 1945/FB naming convention. For those COD Controls with similar purpose to the il2 1946/FB Controls - such as COD's "Lean to gunsight" and il2 1946/FB's "Toggle Gunsight", keep the il2 1946/FB functionality.
