Default What GPU...if money is no object?

Please only comment if you have something of high spec or have been testing something of high spec!

I would go for Nvidia GTX580 single GPU card. It stays quite cool, idle 45-48c and under 70c under load and i have no graphical or performance problems in any game running on maximum in 1920x1080.

I currently have 480gtx, what performance gain you recon I will get from a 580, and what about the new 3gb versions?

Atm, considering all the dual GPU problems in all sort of games, the highest overclocked GTX 580 and/or with 3 GB VRAM should be the best buy for 1920x1080.

For lower resolutions, like my 1680x1050, a 560 TI superoverclocked is enough for anything (as a 580 would have roughly the same performance at this resolution).

Hard to say but 15-20+ fps depending on the game and your system (CPU, Ram speed and possible bottlenecks). There are many tests on google of GTX480 vs GTX 580. Do a search and check them out

Just remember that these cards require a minimum 750w PSU with 42A on the +12v rail or you will probably face freezes, BSODS and reboots. I know some sites, including Nvidia, claims minimum 600w but i really recommend 750w if you don't want headaches. Second, if you do need a new PSU, DON'T go for a cheap one. Buy a known and good brand. You won't regret it.

i have been thinking the same as you. i would like like to upgrade to a 580 but couldnt decide wether forking out for the 3gb version was worth it and if the gain in performance from the 1.5gb version would be worth be worth the money atm. then again i dont have any probs with my 480 so i might wait till the next generation of GPU comes out and see what they have to offer. i dont know.

If money is no problem, then patience is a vitrue!

There is nothing to buy today to make this game run very well.

Wait for the next generation of NV GPUs with the new core. These will make the game run better.

Now the bad news, they decided to postpone the introduction of the new GPUs from end-2011 to 2012

So, very sad Xmas it will be!

GTX580 3Gb is a good card to get you fixed for a few months while waiting.
