Default Bombing in the Br.20, any tips/tutorials?

Think I would like to try it out but lack of documentation - yet again! - isn't helping. I've noticed that the bombing sight in the Cicogna looks awfully similar to the one in the Sm.79 Sparviero, if it's the same then I probably won't have any problems. Does anyone have any experience in bombing (not low level) with the Br.20?

Cheers!

The bombing site is bugged as of the current patch but it should work like the SM 79 I think.

Bugged? in what way? I noted that the max altitude you could set the sight to was 2700 meters! surely that can't be correct.

Stealth_Eagle: You were right, it's bugged. How do I know? well the bombsight is essentially the same as the one in the sparviero and I know that bombsight very well, used it many times in old IL-2. It's very easy and straightforward to use. Just set altitude and velocity and slip if you need to compensate for any side winds. In the Br.20 I set everything correct, altitude and TAS (true airspeed) but still the bombs fall way to early, it's a shame really.

The site is bugged in a sense that it will crash IL-2 CoD for me. For bombs falling too early, try inputting true altitude or altitude above target rather than over sea level. If that isn't the problem, then I don't know what your problem is.

Yeah I've been thinking about that too but how do I know the true altitude of the target? It crashes when you use the sight? that's weird, I've tried bombing a few times but no CTD's.

To figure out "true" altitude is comparing it to a known height on the ground. "True" altitude is height above target which I think by default, the altimeters are set to MSL (mean sea level) on spawn. There is contour lines on the map but I have yet to discover the interval which will help level bombers everywhere. I'll see if I can figure it out for you.
